Scott Air Force Base located in southwest Illinois, is the home of Air Mobility Command. Air Mobility Command provides airlift and aerial refueling for all of America’s armed forces as well as other support services.
Our project consisted of strengthening and making repairs to the wood trusses of Building 1961. Building had to remain operational and all work was performed at night. The primary work consisted of epoxy injection of the wood trusses at joint intersections and on cracks in vertical and horizontal members. New structural steel elements and steel columns with reinforced concrete foundations were added at various locations to further strengthen and repair the existing wood trusses.
