Built in 1968, Station St. Ignace’s primary mission is Search and Rescue and Aids to Navigation as well as conducting law enforcement. Station St. Ignace has the largest area of responsibility in the Great Lakes covering over 4,050 square miles of water, and more than 50 islands.
Our project consisted of totally renovating the main pier at Station St. Ignace. Work included the installation of a new concrete apron and sea wall stabilization. Repair of concrete structural tie beams, coping and pier walls. Work also included the installation of new ladders, handrails, bollards and cleats. Removed existing steel ramps and replaced with new reinforced concrete ramps. Removed all existing asphalt and replaced with new asphalt paving.
