DETAILS:

The work was performed on the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge in Trempealeau County, Wisconsin. This 6,226-acre Refuge lies within the Mississippi flyway, along the Mississippi River in western Wisconsin. It is an isolated backwater, cut off from the Mississippi and Trempealeau rivers by dikes, providing needed resting and feeding areas for waterfowl and other birds.

Project consists of site improvements that provide paved parking and ADA accessibility upgrades including exposed aggregate concrete walkways, concrete curbing, electrical event receptacles, new entry gates, and roadway resurfacing. Work was carried out on schedule despite two major flood events.
